I work in programmatic advertising. You paint online advertising to be something out of 1984 — and you’re misinformed (I’m putting it nicely). I believe you’re extremely dramatic here as well. Many of your points about how advertisements influence people is similar to saying how, let’s take Medium, “controls your mind and sways you to opinions!”. Fuck the system!! Who are you? Korn?? If you think advertisers on FB (and the internet for that matter) is some sort of big brother device, you are extremely misinformed. There are tremendous amount of privacy regulations surrounding “online advertising”. I can go on and on. Scare tactic article.
