There are people still alive who know what is IIIT…. otherwise most of parents and few students literally get confused between IIIT and IIT and will say hurray!!! u study in IIT .

As per research conducted by schools in Pune then we have to explain them that its actually IIIT not IIT and that one extra I has made us face so many embarrassing moments in front of parents whose children are preparing for IIT .

NIT is always second option, people always want IIT.

So, if you are confused regarding which institution you should select for your engineering undergraduation.

Overview of IITs, NITs, and IIIT

In this article let’s take a look at definition and difference between all the top 3 engineering educational institutions which are IIT, NIT, IIITs in detail.

IIT

Another survey done by schools in Mumbai shows that ,Indian Institute of Technology are autonomous technical universities which are located in India these are universities that are established and run by the government of India and these are institutes of national importance .

There are 23 such universities and all of these universities are autonomous but also have been linked with each other from a common council of IIT which will basically look after the administration process preparing of exams and many more activities.

IIIT

Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) are a basically a group of 25 interdisciplinary universities that primarily focus on providing undergraduate and postgraduate education for students in information technology field in specific and you can study other engineering courses like mechanical civil electrical and computer science and also dual degree programs.

NIT

The National Institutes of Technology (NITs) are the autonomous public Universities which are controlled by government of India, there are 31 universities and all of them are autonomous yet they are linking with each other through a

common council known as council of NITSER, this council will basically look after the administration and other important things of this universities and as I mentioned earlier the university is funded and run by the Central Government.

Comparison of the three institutions :-
A.) IIT — It gives admission based on Jee advance ranks, there are 23 Total IITs in India and number of seats in its are 11,279. IIT are top central gov. colleges of India whose placements are too good and its have lots of branches and each branches students get good placements by its core companies.

High funding of government is there in its and it have mostly large campus and situated in good locations of India like — bombay, delhi, kanpur, varanasi, roorke, kharagpur etc. Students gets all best facilities here and they are very sharp minded and hardworking.

B.) NIT- It gives admission based on jee main ranks. There are total 31 NITs in india and total no. of seats in its are 17,868. It have also good placement and it also have many branches like IIT, due to central gov, colleges , it also have good gov. fundings,

C.) IIIT — It also gave admission based on jee main ranks.

There are 24 IIITs in India and no of seats in its are 3433. IIITH, IIITB are International Institute of Information Technology and IIITD are Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, and remaining IIITs are Indian Institute of Information technology ,central gov. colleges of national importance.

In this, IIITA, IIITG, IIITKU, IIITJ, IIITKA are MHRD fully affiliated fully gov. colleges and others are Under PPP model because they are new. Placements are also best in its and branch is mostly IT, CSE, ECE.

You get to meet and live with the most intelligent mind of the country.
