The Not So Modern Wharf

London’s Disappearing Heritage

Walking from Greenwich to the Dome on a glowering, overcast day, past the slowly disappearing wharves and fading industries along the banks of the Thames, all being obliterated by modern housing developments, you can still glimpse traces of old London before they are forever buried under the hustle and bustle of a modern city.

Of course everything changes, and has to, to accommodate modern living, but take the opportunity to visit these remnants of a way of life once lived before it’s too late, swamped by the noise motorways, cars and trains, (all of which I love), and remember the history and people that built the city we love today.
