Who wants to lose fat and/or stay healthy? Everyone.

Who thinks that eating a burger and losing fat is impossible? Everyone.

Who is addicted to burgers? Most people.

If you feel like you’re trapped between eating healthy and indulging to some good old comfort food…

I’m coming to the rescue!

A few weeks back, after the (successful) trial of the low-carb pizza, I came across an amazing recipe: the first burger 100% compatible with my low-carb diet goals!

Did you know how many calories are in a classic burger? At least 600!

Well, this is the recipe for what I’d call “a real burger” that has less than 450 calories. Not only that, but you are going to know exactly what’s in your food: simple and natural ingredients.

My secret is to swap the traditional hamburger bun with a fun & delicious bread: the cloud bread.

Let’s go into the kitchen!

For 8 cloud bread/ 4 burgers

Ingredients :

  • 4 eggs, separated
  • 140 g cream cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Directions:

  • Separate the eggs, there must be no yolk in the white.
  • In one bowl, mix together the egg yolks and the cream cheese.
  • In the second bowl add 1/4 teaspoon of baking powder and salt to the whites and beat the whites on high speed until they are fluffy, form a nice peak and hold their peaks.
  • Slowly fold the egg yolk mixture into the egg whites and mix carefully, you don’t want to break the fluffiness of the egg whites too much.
  • Spoon the mixture into 8 even rounds and heat in an oiled pan over medium heat for 4 minutes each side.

Baking bread in the oven is a great alternative to using the stove.

  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit (150 degrees Celsius)
  • Bake for 17–20 minutes on the middle rack. Then broil (cook the top) for 1 minute and watch it until they become nice and golden brown.

Remove from the oven.

Your cloud bread is ready? Perfect, Congratulations!

Now, you can customize the filing: steak, vegetable steak, cheese, tomatoes, salad…

What about the french fries that usually go with that delicious burger?

An awesome alternative is to make butternut squash “fries” instead of potato fries. It is sweeter, healthy and fat-free.

It’s a magic vegetable, isn’t it?!

All you need to do is to shape them like fries and cook them in a stove with olive oil with paprika.

For a portion of 100g, french fries represent 300 calories whereas butternut squash are only 100 calories.

Here’s my secret! You can now indulge in some comfort burger eating while losing weight and staying healthy.

Enjoy!

See you soon…
