The Hole Truth…

A Humans ability to apply scientific knowledge culminated with methods of acquiring data, process and store it acknowledges the existence of a higher power. We bring into being, life, powered with an infinite thirst for information. I am humbled at our intelligence as a species but also saddened by our ignorance. We ravage our planet with self-inflicted wounds from global warming, pollution of the air and water from man made chemicals. Hallmarks of the long term effects of this mistreatment is evident all over the world. Mining is big business but one of the worst forms of mutilation that can be done. Large earthmoving machines dig deep to unmask sediment to find minerals for hyper-capitalistic gains. With 42 mines world wide and 700 oil refineries it seems as though the abuse is immanent. The Orapa diamond mine in Botswana is the world’s largest by area. AngloGold Ashanti’s Mponeng gold mine, located south-west of Johannesburg in South Africa, is currently the deepest mine in the world. The operating depth at Mponeng mine ranged from between 1.491 miles to more than 2.423 miles below the surface by the end of 2012. Surprisingly, studies indicate most Americans think global warming is still a scientifically significant topic of disagreement. Which is why it is becoming more and more urgent to keep the public informed of climate changes fhat have a damaging effect on the world.
