budgies are native to Australia. Where they are still living in huge flocks..in the wild they are only founded in their traditional green color. They fly in huge flocks in search of water. They mostly breed during the rainy weather. and make their nests in hollowed out trees or tree limbs… they can be pesky to farmers and can make a lot of damage in a grain field

Sexing the budgies:

Telling the difference between males and females in budgies is quite simple. You can easily examine them by seeing them within the cage and there is no need to handle them and stress them out… Male budgie usually have a dark blue cere while in some mutations it can be baby pink and in female budgies, their cere is of white color in every mutation and usually, when female budgies reach adulthood and are ready to breed their cere turns brown in color you will also notice the cere thicken and crusty in females… There is another way by which you can differentiate if this does not help you can examine them… mostly the male budgie is noisier then the female the male will be chirping and whistling throughout the day while female will remain quite … she will chirp or scream occasionally…

Breeding:

Breeding budgies is really simple. All you need is to get a pair and provide them a box and a private space with a peaceful environment. where there is no one going to disturb them. When the pair gets settled in the cage. The male will encourage the female to go into the nesting box he will feed her again and again.. and will do the mating dance and a lot of chirping and whistling with excitement. When the female will be ready she will finally let the male hump on her back and begin the mating ritual.

After ten days of mating, the female will give her first egg. They can lay up to 4–6 eggs on average.

After 18 days of incubation, the first chick will hatch and the day after another chick will hatch.. both parents will feed the chick all you have to do is provide them with good food like fruits and vegetables.

After a month the chicks are fully feathered and ready to leave the nest… you can differentiate between male and female when they will be two months of age.
