Amal Academy has a vision to improve the educational system as well as boosting the social and moral values of our society.

Amal fellowship is really a great learning experience and its most important part is the Mega Project.

As in our Mega Project, each group would have to pick a social cause they want to support (education, health, animal rights, environment etc.). So, After having a long argumentative discussion, me and my group have chosen the “environment” section.

We all have agreed on the most important and debated topic which is the excessive use of plastic and its drastic effects on our health and environment. Man has found ways to make his life easy but at the same time he has created some items that are bad for him as well as the whole ecosystem. We are planning to raise awareness against the excessive use of plastic and its derivatives as they are polluting our whole environment and take too much time to degrade. We are going to make useful products from plastic bottles and sell them to raise funds to further strengthen our campaign against careless use of plastic.

Topic: Recycling Plastic Waste

Plastic is a major product which is used all over the world in a very high range and also increases plastic waste day by day. It is cheap to produce and can be molded in any shape and color but harmful for our lives.

Here are few points regarding our project work:

• We conducted research on the excessive use of plastic and its impact on our environment and health as well as its effects on marine life and our ecosystem. We also researched the benefits of recycling and the different methods used for plastic recycling
• We shall collect plastic bottles which are of no use and dangerous for the environment and turn them into some useful products like gift boxes, pencil holders, vases, lamps and other different products. We are going to sell these products and the money will go to campaigns for a cleaner and plastic free world.
• Our project aims to raise awareness about the importance of recycling waste and focuses on taking practical steps to reduce the amount of plastic waste in our environment.
• Zulqarnain, Marrium are responsible for the collection of bottles. Amina and Ahsan will make products from these raw materials. Abdul Rehman, Hamza Anwar And Ali Asnan are responsible for selling and raising funds. Shahzeb Khan and Arslan are responsible for selling extra and unusable plastic to the factory.
• The challenge we might face is to collect plastic waste and the quality of plastic waste collected because people may not be willing to participate. To overcome this challenge we classify the plastic waste based on different types and clean it before starting the recycling process.
• The main challenge is making the really fine products that will attract the buyers and making sure that it is fully made of the plastic that we are trying to make good use of.

Current projects:

• Plastic waste collection: we will collect plastic waste from households.
• Product Making: We will produce different products from plastic waste.
• Sales: We will sell the products at local markets.

Through our research process, we learned that plastic waste is a major issue that needs immediate attention. We found that recycling is an effective way to reduce the amount of plastic waste and its harmful effects on our environment.

Our next step will be to start collecting plastic wastes from households. We will also start producing different products from recycled plastic waste and sell them to local markets and factories.

Finally we will track our progress and make necessary changes to improve our project.
