Critical thinking is the ability to think clearly or logically,to understand/analyze the problem and to find the better solutions of problems according to situation. Critical thinking helps people to develop a positive attitude toward learning new skills,it also helps to develop problem solving skills and think critically.Critical thinking skill helps person to develop self- determination.

Learning is not just by teaching it’s a matter of capacity and a person can only learn something if his mind had the capacity and critical thinking skill.There are so many problems that we pass through in this case critical thinking is very important.If we talk about the critical thinking skill of students,this skill gives students the ability to understand possible problems of their lives.This skill also helps students to build the knowledge without step by step guidance.

The main components of critical thinking are:

  • Theory
  • Practice
  • Attitude/behavior

Theory is the main and basic principal of critical thinking if someone wants to solve his problems he must have knowledge of theory.Secondly,practice well everyone knows that "practice makes a man perfect" that’s why in order to be good enough in critical thinking skill we have to work hard and think logically about hypothetical problems.Attitude/behavior towards others is the important component of critical thinking too.

Problem solving is the process of finding solutions of probabilities,difficulties and complex issues.Both critical thinking and problem solving are interconnected.If a person has skills of critical thinking so certainly he will be a problem solver.

Some key problem-solving skills are:

  • Active listening
  • Analysis
  • Research
  • Communication
  • Team building
  • Decision making

Techniques for problem solving are:

  1. Identify the problem
  2. Define the context
  3. List the choices
  4. Analyze options
  5. Self correct

The purpose of problem solving is to figuring out or identifying things to get the possible solutions of problems.

The deduction of this article is that critical thinking is an essential skill for professional practice so we should always think critically before deciding or judging any matter.
