Minjar to Join Nutanix: Continuing on the Mission

I am delighted to announce that Minjar, Inc., the maker of Botmetric, has executed a definitive agreement to be acquired by Nutanix. We are privileged to be joining an innovative company serving global enterprises to accelerate their digital journey and humbled by the humility that Dheeraj and his leadership team have shown during our interactions. Over the course of our discussions, we realized a strong cultural alignment between both teams on critical aspects like a shared vision for the future of the enterprise cloud, hunger to build solutions for hard problems, authenticity in interactions, honesty in communication, appreciation for product design and focus on customer experience.

As Ravi Mhatre wrote during the Nutanix IPO, it’s a rocketship opportunity that has created a new industry segment with hyperconverged infrastructure and is now empowering modern enterprises with “Enterprise Cloud OS software based on One OS, One Click, Any Cloud” — the Nutanix vision for delivering a seamless experience across public or private clouds. Dheeraj and his team have engineered a great company to create a new category, established market leadership, and all while remaining authentic with their long term product focus. I believe, as a startup, we would rarely have an opportunity that knocks on our door from a company like Nutanix with an amazing leadership team, strong product alignment, culture fit, common vision and shared belief system. Our decision to soon join Nutanix was shaped as much by the culture and team alignment as it was by the attention for solid technology and ambition for a long-term product vision.

We started Minjar with a simple mission of delivering intelligent solutions for cloud management. From day one, we were focused on delivering this promise through smart technology via many product experiments, and have accelerated it with the launch of Botmetric platform based on our deep expertise in public cloud management solutions through Minjar. In this short journey, we were able to become one of the highest rated and reviewed cloud management solutions in the marketplace, acquire enterprise customers and deliver significant ROI for them. We have built a truly microservices system for public cloud scale, a great SaaS product loved by our users and pride in being a knowledge-driven company. As we were working on scaling our product GTM, we couldn’t have asked for a better fit than Nutanix to take Botmetric to every potential enterprise cloud customer across the globe.

We are excited about the opportunity and ability to accelerate our shared product vision and deliver a compelling value proposition to customers as part of Nutanix family. We could not have reached this important milestone in our journey and wouldn’t be where we are without the support of our customers, employees, partners, and investors. I am indebted to our customers, who worked with us from our early days, strong partnership support from Amazon Web Services team and constant encouragement for our growth by Dr. Werner Vogels, CTO of Amazon. I am thankful to AWS teams in India, ASEAN and US for helping us build Minjar as a reliable brand in the ecosystem while taking Botmetric product to many customers.

I couldn’t thank enough, our early angel investors including Ankur Jain, Rishi Bhargava, Nancy Langer, Faiyaz Shapurwala, Anurag Chandra, Raj Raman, Jocelyn Goldfein and Vishal Gupta who backed us very early in our journey. Our institutional investors who came on board in 2017 have been great friends, mentors and we couldn’t have accelerated our product vision without their support. Thank you Blume Ventures, Contrarian Capital, Emergent Ventures and Angel List for being amazing partners. Also, we are humbled and honored by the support of Ashish Gupta, Sharad Sharma, Indus Khaitan and Pallav Nadhani as angels in our last round. Most importantly, it takes an ecosystem to make startups successful, I could never forget the help of Pallav Nadhani, Sharad Sharma, Avinash Raghava, Suresh Sambandam and Thiyagarajan (Rajan) who have been a strong supporters since our inception.

We wouldn’t have achieved this milestone without an amazing team that was our strength from day one. Thank you Minjas, this journey will be a great memory for all of us. I am forever grateful to you for the commitment, focus and hard work while managing many difficulties with smile. I will miss sending those “weekend read” emails. Finally, I want to thank my co-founders, Anand, Aparna Sharma and Prashant Gyan for being there to get things done from day one, this journey was inconceivable without you. As founders, we have immensely benefited from the mentorship of Ankur, Faiyaz, Pallav & Rishi. The journey was as much memorable and filled with surprises as this new milestone for all of us.

We look forward to continuing this journey with Nutanix family, and our mission still remains the same!
