Don’t change what made these characters great

At San Diego Comic-Con 2013, Zack Snyder revealed the logo of his next film, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Many were excited to finally see these two iconic heroes appear on the big screen together for the very first time.

Although fans seemed overjoyed by the team-up, many had vocalized some doubt.

They thought it was too soon.

Man of Steel introduced Superman, so where was Batman’s solo film? Why was there so much emphasis on the two fighting when they should be working together?

Then the trailers released and a feeling of dread washed over.

Why was Batman…

Why I ditched Monopoly and tried something new

Growing up, you probably played a lot of Monopoly with your family and Sorry with your friends.

Someone would whip out the UNO deck or piece together Connect Four.

These were fun, yet simple games that everyone knows how to play. They’re the go-to games stashed on shelves in millions of households.

Then there are the not so common board games. Complicated games that most people don’t want to take the time to learn.

They’re the games that have 10 to 20-page rulebooks, intricately detailed pieces, unique designs, and genuinely well-written stories.

Complex board games lead to high replayability, where…

Are you still at home looking for things to do?

Social distancing isn’t easy and most are desperate to pass the time doing something we can enjoy. Here are 2 new hobbies that can destroy boredom: Solo board games and writing!

We enjoy the scare and the feeling of relief. The feeling that everything is going to be okay because it’s not real. A feeling we don’t get very often in the real world.

Your brain reacts by letting you know:

“It’s just a movie so there’s…

So here’s how to make them scary again

As I relax on my couch watching scary movies back-to-back with a blank expressionless look on my face, I realize that I’m wasting my time. I used to watch horror films because they scared me. Creatures that I could never imagine terrified me to my core. I noticed as time went on, jump scares became predictable, monsters became computer generated and practical effects slowly vanished.

Horror That Works

Even though we’ve recently had great films such as The Conjuring, Hereditary, IT, and Midsommar, these are unfortunately rare gems. They’re horrifying due to the situations and unknown entities the protagonists face. The audience wants…
