Digital Magnification after vision loss? Understanding hand held Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) for people with low vision

CTVs have been used to use video magnification on reading materials or other things when we need to see something on a bigger screen. Dr. Sarah Wolff of Amplify EyeCare of Greater Long Beach explains what hands free and handheld CCTV is, and the benefits that it can provide. A portable CCTV works the same way as a conventional CCTV, except that it is in a handheld design. Aside from offering increased magnification, CCTV’s have other features such as allowing you to change contrast settings.
