I agree with every word of what @_shankarganesh has written. Sometimes, I feel that my personal mailbox is a joke with so many useless promotional emails. Before @gmail introduced the Promotions tab to segregate the marketing emails, I sought the help of @Unrollme which helped me weed out a major portion of these mails, but that was not sufficient and it hardly matters now because I don’t log into personal mailbox unless it’s absolutely necessary. Most of the important conversations outside work happens through any medium but emails. Funnily enough, I have started consuming news through @instagram stories. All the major news outlets that I follow are on Instagram and they make it easier for me to consume information more than ever. Instead of reading an article for 10 mins, I can watch these insta stories under 1 min without any information loss. I love the developments that we’ve made but the tools we are building to bring people together are driving us away further apart. As @intercom puts it beautifully, “Everyone is engaged in conversation, yet no one is talking to each other”. Excited to see where we go from here.
