This usually happens to be an experimental state, explored by those who think they can get the best of both highs! or sometimes, it is just due to a bad decision made by an already very drunk person!

What exactly happens?

Let us start with something we already know: Alcohol changes your central nervous system, it suppresses your neurotransmitters causing the flow of information from your external environment to become slow. Therefore, you happen to perceive less and as a result feel less and remember less.

Contrarily, marijuana has THC that makes your brain fire its neurons continuously, making your thoughts, perceptions, and imaginations magnify. Pursuing the high that is a result of a combination of two chemical substances results in an ‘out-of-mind’ state.

You might want to consider the down below reasons even if you are most familiar with this state that is usually called ‘crossfading.’

1. You are messing up with your memory and fast learning skills.

THC works cognitively, making you question concepts of time and space. Both alcohol and weed inhibit glutamate, a key part of your learning process. Combined use has shown results like poor memory and more chances of motor impairment. For more information check out the study where drunk and stoned rats were made to recognize objects.

2. It makes you feel more lit than usual

THC levels in your blood plasma skyrockets due to an effect called vasodilation — a state caused by alcohol consumption which relaxes the smooth muscles of the body; resulting in increased blood flow to lungs, making the blood surrounding your air sacks to pick up more THC in one inhalation.

3. Use of marijuana while being high on alcohol prevents vomiting.

This might sound ironical but, being unable to vomit poses serious health risks. It causes fainting and dizziness. You would definitely not want to feel the spins in your head or spend the night alone crashing in washrooms, instead of trying your luck on dance floors!

4. Intensified highs are not always a good thing.

Alcohol and marijuana do not always get along together. You might not want to regret passing out or feeling overwhelmed when everybody else around you seems to be having a very good time.A lot of research has been done on the effect that these substances individually on the human body but, much less on both combined. It happens to be within our understanding that these substances require a responsible use.

Happy time at the parties!
