JSNation Conference 2019 now offers Diversity Scholarships 🌈
Thanks to GitHub's support, we have 35 spots reserved for underrepresented folks
A good conference should do everything in order to welcome attendees from diverse backgrounds but that often isn't the case in tech, and it's up to all of us to change that!
That's why GitNation, the company behind Amsterdam JSNation, has supported organizations like Women Who Code, Unicorns in Tech, Rails Girls, and CODE Berlin in the recent past, and we’ve helped over 300 folks from underrepresented groups attend many of our events.
Just like last year, JSNation 2019 is going to be a part of this intiative. 🌈
In 2019, GitHub is joining us as the official Diversity Sponsor of the conference. As you surely know, the company connects international communities of developers and allows anyone to use their code and build upon it, and you’d hardly find a tech company as dedicated to diversity and collaboration across the globe.
GitHub also supports inclusion in tech by working towards it internally and helping educational platforms like our conference. Thanks to the company’s support, we’ll be able to provide 35 diversity scholarships to underrepresented folks.
How to apply?
📋 Fill out this simple form, we’ll check if you’re eligible, and if so, your name will then be a part of lottery. The deadline for applying is March 31, 11:59PM CET. All the available tickets will be handed out by mid-April, and everyone will be notified via email.
The selected attendees will receive a free ticket to the conference, and a few lucky ones will also have their travel costs covered. Please see the form for rules that apply in this case.
We’re looking for more diversity sponsors
The scholarships are made possible in a joint effort with our sponsors. In case you run a company (or know one) that supports diversity in tech and would be interested in sponsoring the scholarships, simply drop us a line at email@example.com.
