Gun deaths aren’t even in the top ten causes of death in the United States. More people are killed by lightning each year than are killed by AR-15s. More people are killed each year by baseball bats and knives than guns. More people are killed each year by automobiles than guns. Should our Congressmen sit on the floor of the house until cars are banned from the road? There isn’t a constitutional right to drive. If you’re wanting to stop senseless violence and death a blanket ban on cars would be the best solution. Banning guns, however, won’t stop violence. Just look to those countries like Brazil, Mexico and the UK — they have higher rates of violence and murder than the U.S. despite the fact that it is difficult if not impossible to own a firearm.
