The LGBTQ shootings in Orlando had nothing to do with Radical Islam or Guns and everything to do with Sharia Law.
It appears that the most recent mass murder of 49+ Americans at an LGBTQ nightclub in Orlando wasn’t an act of terror but rather an act of hate. Omar Saddiqui Mateen’s father explained that his son was disgusted after seeing two men kissing in the street — sparking his deadly rampage last night. Mateen wasn’t inspired by ISIS to kill Americans — he was inspired by Sharia Law to kill homosexuals.
We excoriate North Carolina for passing laws that require people use the bathroom assigned to the gender designated on their birth certificates. Major corporations helped bring light to the issue by boycotting the state. The media shined the bright light on the issue and we are able to have a healthy debate about the issue. This is how change happens in a Democracy — by openly discussing and debating issues. So why aren’t we bringing this sort of debate to Islamic Law? The answer is simple — you’ll be called a racist — I’m certain that someone will read this post and call me a racist.
Americans in all walks of life (politicians, reporters, business people, homemakers) are scared to death to admit the fact that with few exceptions all scholars of Sharia, or Islamic law, interpret homosexual activity as a punishable offence as well as a sin. The media is reluctant to point out that homosexuality is punishable by death and/or illegal in Afghanistan, Brunei, Iran, Mauritania, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, United Arab Emirates, Yemen, Algeria, Maldives, Malaysia, Qatar, Somalia, and Syria. We’re not talking ‘radical Islam’ here, we’re talking about ‘peaceful Islam’.
Mateen was a 29-year-old whose parents were from Afghanistan. In their home country those same men that Mateen saw kissing on the street would have faced the death penalty. Had major corporations and governments shined the light on Sharia law’s position on homosexuality and boycotted those nations maybe Mateen would have moderated his views. Instead the United States gives more than $1 billion in aid to Saudi Arabia each year despite the fact that they routine imprison, torture, and execute homosexuals. Where is the outrage? Where is the media?
The media is focused on the instrument of death that Mateen chose — an AR-15 rifle. Instead of covering the real issue — Islam and Sharia Law — we’re suggesting the real issue was a firearm. That somehow the rifle was to blame for the shooting. The reality was that Mateen was a security guard who carried and trained with weapons as part of his job. Stricter gun laws wouldn’t have had any effect on Mateet — only a more open debate could have stopped him from murdering 49+ members of the LGBTQ community. The longer we ignore the real issue — Sharia Law — the more members of the LGBTQ community will die, both abroad and even here in the United States.
