She Saves Me

On the couch with victimhood again,

Re-examining the past as if

It was in the room,

Choking me like a

Venomous snake,

Seeking solace in social media

Brings unrequited obsession

With celebrity as muse,

Yet,

When I see her smile,

My pain lessons,

The antidote

Of distant compassion

soothes my furrowed brow.

Keep it moving, she says,

All serious of tone,

No excuses, she chides,

With fire in her eyes,

There’s unconditional love there.
