The Apple-Google shift
Elliot Jay Stocks

I totally agree, and it’s just so damn sad. As a diehard Apple fan for years, this uncomfortable feeling has been growing — that after Steve Jobs passed the company is on the decline.

I remember checking out the iPhone 6 when it was released and my heart broke — the camera lens protruding from the surface instead of sitting flush, the ugly antenna lines across the back, the blunt rounded corners. Where was the elegance, and the clean lines that Apple was known for? Don’t even get me started on the way the podcast app looks now.

I’m just talking about aesthetics here, as this post covers off the issues with function quite well already. The beauty of their products used to bring me such joy; it’s the end of an era really.
