My friend and colleague Bernie Sanders will be in Minnesota on Tuesday, helping to get out the vote for Hillary Clinton. I’ve been asking Bernie to visit our state, so I was bummed to find out that he would be in Minneapolis and Duluth when I was in Farmville, Virginia for the vice presidential debate. Tim Kaine is a close friend, and he could be our nation’s third vice president from Minnesota. I’m excited to be there to support him!

Still, there was so much I wanted to do and see with Bernie on his trip to Minnesota. Here are just a few examples.

  1. Ride the rollercoaster at the Mall of America.
(John Weeks/Bernie 2016/MinnPost)

Because elections are like roller coasters you can’t get off.

2. Visit the new Vikings stadium.

(KARE 11/Bernie 2016/Klobuchar for Minnesota)

He will find out there that Minnesota is a purple state.

3. Grab a beer at Surly Brewing Company.

(Trivia Mafia/Saturday Night Live/Sorensen)

“I’ll have a beer — a new brand that people are flocking to, something refreshing and revolutionary, something that draws huge crowds.” — Larry David as Bernie Sanders on Saturday Night Live

4. Check out Paul Bunyon and Babe the Blue Ox.

(NBC News/Bernie 2016/Klobuchar for Minnesota)

They’re HUGE.

5. See Lake Superior.

(Janssen/Bernie 2016/Star Tribune)

Make Lakes Great Again.

6. Eat some pie at Betty’s.

(StressCake/Bernie 2016/Klobuchar for Minnesota)

Everyone deserves their fair share.

Have a great time in Minnesota, Bernie!
