In recent years, urban farming using vertical hydroponic systems, has gained a lot of attention. Using the latest technology, these hydroponic farms are able to optimise plant growth, providing fresh, local produce, while minimising water-usage, space, transport and pesticides. However, whether hydroponic farms are superior to traditional farming methods and whether they can replace them has been subject to controversy.
