Day #9433

In the wrong place, in the wrong time…

When you have been placed in the wrong timeline and in the wrong country, it is a wretched reality.

First, you have to deal with the mindless zombies we call ‘our future’, attached to these wireless, handheld devices, who walk around consuming the world of media but not nourishing their brains with anything of substance. Ask them anything on pop culture and they will snap an answer in a split second, but ask them something about what’s going on in the world, or something on history, or even culture, and none of them can give you an answer, and those who do, have swiftly run a Google search and are regurgitating the mindless drivel from Wikipedia.

Then, you have to deal with the culture changes. And oh, there are many! Around everyone, there are eggshells for you to dance around, and if you step on one, offending them, you will never hear the end of it. Keyboard activists descend upon you like fire and brimstone, and their words pierce you like sulphuric acid, consumed.

Thankfully, you’re safe behind your screen, and they, theirs, and so the war of words can progress to no end, without any actual bloodshed. But unfortunately, this war of words does leave scars. And it shows the ugliness of what humanity has become.

Where are everyone’s manners? No one shows anyone any courtesy. Everyone is selfish and self-centred and greedy. It’s appalling, to say the least. Society behaves like it was raised by wild, uncivilised beasts who never had an ounce of exposure to civilisation.

There are many sore points with this world I’m stuck in. Too many to count, right now at least, and too many for me to actually expound upon. I would exhaust every word in the world’s vocabulary, which in recent times isn’t much honestly, and still have not reached the end of my list. It’s truly that bad nowadays…

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
