Dag 7

Had a busy day today(yesterday)! Early class (epigenetics and the environment) and then a class about diabetes. Both classes went well and they made me excited to learn more. Went to the library after class and did some homework and then I went to the gym. I started a two week free trial to see if I will actually use the gym. I really hate doing exercise inside, but it’s nice to have a locker somewhere in the city and a place to shower if I go for a run or something. I went for a run by the water and then I went back to the library for a little while. Started planning a trip to Switzerland for Me and Lisa. A girl sitting next to me at the library noticed what I was doing, and she had been to Switzerland before so she told me a bunch of pointers and cool places to see. After that, I met up with Lisa and 3 other girls from my homestay network. We went to dinner at a place called “Paper Island.” I thought it was going to be a restaurant but it was a bunch of street food vendors on a little pier by the water. I got falafel, my fav street food. We sat by the water and ate, and then Lisa and I got really antsy and we took a walk. While we were walking we saw strange looking flames falling in the sky. We were a bit concerned but then I remembered that it was the “swoop freestylers” practicing. Basically, they hang glide at night with flames coming off of them somehow. Apparently here are enough of these people for Copenhagen to host a competition for them. I don’t know how you tell who is winning. After that Lisa and I headed home. I didn’t get a chance to write last night because I got home around 11:30 so I am writing this now while a ride the train to visit Brit and Sophie. Looking forward to cooking dinner tonight with my homestay sister!

Danish word of the day: ski=ski or skii as I like to spell it
