Dag 8

Woke up kinda early this morning to go for a bike ride. I had breakfast with Jesper and Lise. Jesper showed me a book that he found for me and Serena. It is a book for children learning how to read, so it has a bunch of pictures with the Danish word underneath. Jesper is the best. He also showed me how I could bike to a castle (shown in the picture). The bike ride was really nice because the paths here are perfect. After biking I went into the city to meet Brit and Sophie for brunch (it was lunch at that point). Then we walked around the city a bit. At around 2 I had to leave to do my visa registration. Then Serena, Taylor, Kirsten (homestay area friends) and I went back home. I decided that I am going to do Duolingo Danish on the train when I don’t have readings for class. I heard that the Danish prince (from France) learned the entire language in one month, so I think I should be able to learn quite a bit in three months. Jesper and Lise had a party in the evening so they told us that we could shop and cook for ourselves. We made some amazing guacamole because the avocados at the store were so ripe that they were basically falling off of the pit. Then we made grilled cheese with the guacamole in it. It was pretty good if I do say so myself. We also made chocolate cake/brownies and put nutella on them. I skyped Margo today which was much needed. Made me very happy to talk to her. One of the girls in my homestay network went to middle school with Margo in Pennsylvania. Small world!
