What to expect from PMs

I would love to hear more about how some PMs don’t think about the people we’re designing for and their needs and goals. I saw this slightly touched on here, but not called out explicitly like business goals was. This is one of the main areas of tension I have with PMs, who don’t get when/why to do generative or evaluative research and the value it provides in product development, say versus analytics and experimentation. Thanks!
