These are all really great points, thank you for the thoughtful response. I agree with you. I actually spent a couple of years working in Brand Marketing before I joined Uber. I think Brand, Mission and Purpose are critical to the success of a company. Results don’t need to be just profits or growth though, they can be anything, from lives saved to customer happiness. I guess the point I was trying to say with that lesson is “don’t be too quick to judge.”

I was very disappointed by the lack of accountability with some of Uber’s senior leaders as well. :(
