Inefficient words make it too easy. They fit into texts and short Twitter copy (which is good for Trump). They keep us from rambling (even better for Trump). They confine us to mundane truths.

I completely agree. I would also add that inefficient words either function as filler words or are simply overused. The words “very” and “most” stand as filler words that give the appearance of more substance or intensity. Words like “robust” are overused so much that its true meaning is poorly generalized outside of the given context.
