Happiness
If you’re not happy with something in your life, then change it.
This is my one simple rule in life, and it’s something that I try my best to stick to.
Happiness is something that is always present, but most people just don’t know where to look for it. It requires being truly present in the moment — to be free of external and internal distractions, to be able to appreciate something in its truest, undiluted form.
Recently, I had become quite unhappy. Things that I paid no attention to (and didn’t even notice) had begun to strip away at me, reducing me to a state of unhappiness.
It took me a while to realise it, but by then the damage had been done. I had to change something.
Change is hard, but happiness is the most important factor. You’re on the planet for only around 27,000 days — why bother wasting them doing things that aren’t making you happy?
Happiness isn’t something which can be achieved instantly. It’s a process of learning to love life, a process of learning to be mindful and cherish each moment.
I’m trying to be happy.
Are you?
