Using this new feature, you’ll be able to buy your crypto in-app and have it arrive directly to your Sylo Smart Wallet. It’s the perfect tool for beginners and enthusiasts alike.
Here’s what you need to know about how it works:
BUYING CRYPTO IN SYLO IS POWERED BY MOONPAY
We use MoonPay to connect the dots on the backend between the Sylo Smart Wallet and the world of regular (fiat) money, which is why you can now purchase crypto in-app using something like your bank card.
MoonPay is active in more than 160 countries and is trusted by 250+ leading wallets, websites, and applications to accept payments and defeat fraud.
WHAT TOKENS CAN I BUY?
Sylo Smart Wallet users around the world can now purchase Bitcoin (BTC), Tezos (XTZ) and Ethereum (ETH) in-app via MoonPay. If you’re a resident of the USA, you may only purchase Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) at this time. Later on, the SYLO token will be made available for purchase. We’ll let you know when this becomes available.
WHAT CAN I PAY WITH?
All major payment methods including debit and credit card, and local bank transfers are accepted. Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay will also become available later in 2021.
You have the choice of paying in over 80 fiat currencies and you can view the full list here.
DOES IT MATTER WHERE I LIVE?
Yes. MoonPay supports transactions in over 160 countries, however there are some countries that support has unfortunately not been rolled out for yet. Please view the full list here of countries that are not currently supported.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
We have integrated the MoonPay fiat-crypto payments infrastructure into the Sylo Smart Wallet. That means within your Sylo Smart Wallet, when you buy crypto, you will be connected with the MoonPay service. It will look a little different to your usual Sylo Smart Wallet UI and you will also be sent emails with confirmation details from MoonPay.
When you use MoonPay inside the Sylo Smart Wallet, you are subject to the MoonPay Terms of Use and privacy policy.
HOW EASY IS IT?
As you can see above, it’s pretty easy. We’d say it’s about as simple as any other purchase you might make online, like buying a new pair of shoes. It is a much, much, much simpler process than purchasing crypto by other means.
HOW SAFE IS IT?
As you know, at Sylo we care about security, so we chose MoonPay very carefully.
Security is also a core pillar of operations at MoonPay. SO HOW DO I DO IT….? HERE’S HOW TO BUY CRYPTO IN-APP:
CHOOSE YOUR CRYPTO
Inside your Sylo Smart Wallet, select the wallet tab and ‘Unlock’.
Now select the crypto asset you want to buy. The Sylo Smart Wallet currently supports Bitcoin, Ethereum and Tezos.
SELECT THE BUY BUTTON
Go to the next stage by tapping the ‘Buy button’
SET AMOUNT
Decide how much you would like to buy.
The minimum order amount is $20 USD, or the equivalent in your local fiat currency. Purchase limits can vary based on your location and requirements.
CREATE AN ACCOUNT
Create a MoonPay account using your email address and follow the steps to get verified.
High value purchases may require identity documents or proof of address.
PAYMENT
Choose from Visa, Mastercard or instant bank transfer using Open Banking if you’re in the UK and EU.
Tap ‘Agree’ to authorise MoonPay to conduct the transaction, then tap the ‘Buy Now’ button.
CONGRATULATIONS
Your crypto funds will soon arrive directly into your Sylo Smart Wallet.
MoonPay will notify you by email when your crypto has been delivered.
