Thank you for a sane, logical assessment where you accept the good parts and logically dissect the bad parts.

I came across that article some time ago. As soothing it was to some of my damaged-yet-mended shield of self-esteem, I knew in my heart that some of the points were BS. It’s unfair to expect another person to be responsible for your happiness. It’s like constantly walking in with muddy shoes into your house and expecting your mum to clean up after you. Mine would throw me out. I wouldn’t expect her to pull me closer and kiss me on the forehead for being a slob. No matter how much she loves me.
We are all responsible for cleaning up our own lives. We should seek help from our partners. But we shouldn’t expect them to take out our emotional garbage day after day.
