✨ About Outtalent

Outtalent (YC19) helps software engineers around the world realize their potential on a global scale, regardless of what’s said on their passports. We operate under Income shared Agreements, in which clients only pay if they get a job they want.

👑 Outtalent Wonder

Wonder is our women-only, 6-month online program focused on ramping up knowledge of data structures and algorithms and notions of systems designs through live seminars, one-on-one mock interviews, mentoring sessions, and weekly check-in meetings. Using our systematic approach, ongoing support, and guidance, we help female developers start new lives abroad as Software Engineers.

We launched this program in 2021. We learned everything about hiring seasons, the competition for new grad positions, and what big tech companies expected from applicants as we trained our pioneer batch. As the hiring season ended, we were in awe when our Wonder fellows landed positions at companies like Google, Meta, and Amazon in cities like Zurich and London.

In 2022, launching the second edition was a no-brainer. We onboarded seven young engineers and were bullish on their results when the hiring season started. But despite their effort, discipline, and preparation, only one landed a job. The market slowdown, multiple layoffs, and hiring freezes sneaked up on us, but that’s no excuse, simply the rules of the game. On the flip side, we met and became friends with seven extraordinary women who navigated these uncertain times with a fixed mindset and positive outlook. And they got excellent, free education from mentors who put everything into it, as incentives could not be more aligned.

Wonder was designed to support young female engineers entering the job market. It is meant to create a sense of community early on and serve as a haven for fellows interacting, getting help, and growing together. And despite less-than-ideal results, we don’t scare easily. We choose to look on the plus side, because getting to know the 2022 batch as they grew was a gift on its own, and we will continue to support them as they apply for companies as positions become available.

✨ 2023 Hiring Season and The Road Ahead

The market is still far from stable, and it’s still uncertain if big tech companies like Google, Meta, and Amazon will open New Grad positions later this year. Still, we can see more and more great companies like Uber, Palantir, Stripe, and Booking.com already being more open about hiring. We can also expect that the hiring season will be less strict in terms of dates, but instead have a more fluid schedule, with different companies following different schedules as their engineering needs become more precise.

Among all of these uncertainties, one thing we know for sure. We will reaffirm our commitment to the vision behind Wonder as we launch the third version of the program, looking for ambitious female engineers who want to join our community. Our goal this year is to provide excellent education, and teach accountability and planning, while we share the ups and downs of this naturally chaotic time with our fellows, making sure they are ready when opportunity comes, no matter what the market looks like.

🔍 We are looking for ambitious female students who:

  • Can successfully articulate their thoughts in English
  • Will earn their Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science in 2023 or 2024 (less than 1 year of full time experience)
  • Have strong foundations of Computer Science, common data types and data structures
  • Have already had an internship or equivalent experience

📣 Apply by May 15th for a spot on the batch!

Our batches consist of only 8–10 people, so fellows have the proper attention throughout the program. Seats are limited, first-come, first-served. Fill out the 2-min form at outtalent.com/check to apply!
