Technological innovative solutions in agriculture

The Diamond project, is a project my friends and I started. The Diamond Project is a six-phase pilot project to introduce the first minority military owned and operated crop farm to the state of Minnesota. The project is centered on agriculture and creating a healing place for minority/POC military veterans to learn how to farm while addressing very aggressive issues such as housing, career development, PTSD, and closing the present age gap in the farming industry. The Diamond Project has the capacity to grow produce in a larger volume to combat food disparity in the designated food desert community, which ultimately affects the health of POC community members.

I have done some research and believe that Technological innovative solutions in agriculture should be our next step. According to FastCompany.com, the world’s food system is desperate for an overhaul. By 2050, studies show, the world will have 3 billion more mouths to feed than it does today, and the demand for food will rise by 50%. More of those people will live in cities, much farther from the traditional source of food–rural farms (Johnoswald, 2018).
The agriculture industry benefits immensely from technological advancement. Soon, more innovations will be developed and as agribusinesses continue to embrace changes. Exacerbating the problem, climate change will put more demand on how food is grown, while fewer people will work in the farming industry.
