These “tools” are all over the place but have a good look at the websites they are on — think they look professional? Most are promoted across the web on videos — again, check them out. Do you believe this will work? Think they will be a reliable snapchat hack?

Do Online Snapchat Hack Tools Work?

These “tools” are fake and are only setup to get you to click on adverts, add your email or complete a survey. They make money for the owners … but you will not be able to see anything from Snapchat.

I have tested them — right up to taking surveys and giving my email — always the same result — no Snapchat content is exposed!

They are quite clever and have little boxes showing the progress of your Snapchat Hack — but make no mistake they are only interested in making money.

It is an old school internet marketing trick. Give one a go and see for yourself although I would advise you use a disposable email address … it will be spammed.

They will ask you to take part in some sort of survey or view some random advertising offer BEFORE you can gain access to the Snapchat records you want to view. They get paid for every survey or offer you look at, and give your information to!

These tools do not work at all — but they make money because you really want them to work. Don’t be a Victim!

Most start by asking you to enter the Snapchat username you want to hack. Do you know your kid’s username? I’m guessing …. probably not. Do they have just one account …. are they telling you the truth? Can you see some problems here already?

So let’s move on and say you actually do have the username. The free online hacking app will now apparently “search” for any data from that user and you can download it and look at their activity.

Nice idea — and you are desperate, you really want this to work.

Do You really think this spammy looking website has a magic tool to hack into a massive worldwide company …. with all those tech experts? For free?

Sorry to burst your bubble — they do not work.

So, spy apps can give you access to someone’s Snapchat activity — is there any other way?

Real Snapchat Hacking?

There are a couple of other ways that your Snapchat account could get hacked. One is from so called Phishing campaigns another is from having your PC or cell phone physically hacked.

Phishing to Hack Snapchat?

Now I’m not going to go into any details on how you can actually do this — it is intrusive, illegal and in my opinion not clever at all! Phishing scams are extremely prolific online today — usually aimed at getting people’s personal data such as bank accounts etc. It can be very serious.

Phishing is a method where the hacker sets up a Fake login page online to try and get you to enter your login details — and so get access to your account. They use various methods including sending fake emails directing you to change your password.

Always take great care of your login details and be wary of emails or phone calls asking for passwords. Phishing has been used to hack into Snapchat accounts — usually directed against celebrities.

Because of the effort involved to set this up it is highly unlikely anyone will try to hack your Snapchat using this method.

Hacking Your Device

If your phone or laptop gets hacked it could also expose your Snapchat account. Again this method requires a high level of effort and expertise so is not very likely to be used just to hack your Snapchat!

How to Tell if Your Snapchat Account is Hacked?

So we have already explained that the Snapchat Hack online tools don’t work — so you are safe from this worry. That leaves you with a couple of serious concerns:

Snapchat Hack via spy apps and keylogger software.
Real Snapchat hacking — gaining access to your account and Snapchat password through phishing or through public Wi-Fi hacks.

In both cases to find out if your Snapchat is hacked you need to look closely at your account. You are looking for any strange behavior at all. A big one is messages, photos and videos that you have not sent or received.

Think of it from the hackers perspective — why have they gone to the trouble of hacking your account in the first place? They want to see your messages in most cases.

Are your Snaps getting delivered? Are your friends still seeing your messages — or worse, are they getting messages from your account that you didn’t send!

Look closely at your account settings and profile for any changes you know you did not make. It is a good idea to check your Data use stats on your cell phone too — look for excessive data use — it could be a sign of unauthorized use of your account.

If you think the Snapchat Hack comes from spy software you probably have more issues than you first thought. If they have hacked your phone with a spy app, that software can give them access to a whole lot more than just your Snapchat use.

My Snapchat Account is Hacked — Help!

What to do if your Snapchat account and password is hacked? A common question I’m afraid — the good news is there are several easy steps to beat the hackers.

If you think you have been compromised by a phishing hack or through your PC or Wi-Fi your first step is to change your account logins and password immediately. This will stop them having continued access to your account … but.

You need to take steps to protect yourself going forward or it will just happen again. Keep reading I have that section coming up soon.

No one wants to get their account hacked, but it usually happens through careless mistakes. I write a lot about various online security issues and it never ceases to amaze me how lax people are when it comes to cell phone security and online security in general.

A crazy number of people go online with their mobile phones and don’t even have a simple, free antivirus software app installed! Basic steps people.

To stop someone hacking Snapchat using spy software apps you need to keep your phone secure. Most spy apps need to be installed directly on to your phone or device — this means if you secure your phone properly you will be safe.

This can be as simple as never letting anyone have access to your phone. You should also have a strong phone lock set up — using strong passwords or even a phone lock app. There are loads online for free — so no excuse!

To stop hackers using phishing or Wi-Fi you really need to stick to some basic online security measures.

Home Wi-Fi should be password protected — another basic step so many people don’t take.
Never use public Wi-Fi — unless you are using a VPN. This is becoming a serious issue and hackers are actively targeting unsecured public Wi-Fi hotspots to gain access to cell phones.
You know those fake emails asking you to click on strange looking links? Just don’t. This is a form of natural selection … if you are silly enough to click those links ….. well.
Be selective with your app installs. Is it needed and is it from a reliable source, if you are not sure do not install it. Unsafe apps can provide hackers with a way in to your phone.

A lot of this should be common sense but as I said too many people seem to lose their minds when it comes to online security.

Some of these facts and figures will blow your mind — what started as a simple social media sharing platform has grown into a massive platform. Snapchat hacks can potentially effect a huge number of people across the globe.

There are an estimated 187 million users who are active daily.
There are over 10 Billion video views on Snapchat — a DAY! That’s just videos … not counting messages and photos.
Over 528,000 snaps are estimated to be sent …. every minute!
Time to look at every photo shared on Snapchat in the last minute …. 10 years! Who works this stuff out?

It must be true … it’s on the internet!

So we get the message — Snapchat is used a lot. But who is using the platform? Some more interesting Snapchat facts:

Around 90% of users are aged between 13 to 24.
About 45% of total users are aged 18–24.
Female users — 70% … come on guys!
63% of active users admit to using the platform every day.
Under 25’s claim they use Snapchat for forty minutes on average every day!
Male college students taking selfies on Snapchat … 50%
Female college students taking selfies … 77%
Over 25% of all smartphone users in the UK have Snapchat.
Norway — 50% of smartphone users have Snapchat.
