#INTERESTED CHALLENGE !
“You have to be interested. If you’re not interested, you can’t be interesting.” Iris Apfel.
How to make friends and influence people more and more in short time I learnt from the Dale Carnigie from chapter 1: “Do This And You’ll Be Welcome Anywhere”, the author mainly focuses on being interested not being interesting. The main theme of his book is we can make friends and influence peoples by talking about them not about you.
ALFRED ADLER says,
“It is the individual who is not interested in his fellow men who has the greatest difficulties in life and provides the greatest injuries to others. It is from among such individuals that all human failures spring”.
After reading the complete chapter, I come to know that really “I” is the major cause of all failures. If we let the “I” turn to “YOU” then most of the failures of human being can be settle down automatically. Taking interests in others is an innovative way of learning. I learn about the humanity rules.I’m the person who most of the time rely on listening others .I can say that i learn most of the things in my life by listening others and be observant what other person actually feels ,now what can i do for them?
Now this seems to be interested activity and i do it for 24 hours by showing my interest in others. I’m the math tutor of my brother and he was quite bad in math. Due to his careless nature most of the time, i get aggressive . After this activity responsibility , I first came to my brother, listen to him whats the real problem he have with math, observe him ,take away my anger and show my interest in him. Really this makes difference :)
I ping my old buddies and start conversation by showing my interest in them .Trust at some points, we all act wired to share something ourselves, but in order to get to a point, it’s very important to show interest in another first.
“If you want to be interesting, be interested.
Once you get filled with what’s going on you can start asking a question through the given information.
# What’s your story?
# What did you do today?
# What’s the strangest thing about where you went up?
# What’s the most interesting thing happened today?
# How’d you end up in your responsibilities of work?
# What does your name actually mean? Do like it to mean something else?
# What was the best part of this weekend?
# What are you planning for upcoming days?
Everyone has stories to tell and everyone loves stories ❤
I hope to take this idea of being ‘interested, not interesting’ with me for the rest of my life. I have already consciously started stopping myself every time I feel the need to jump ahead mentally in a conversation.!
