Top 10 Fun Indoor Family Bonding Games & Activities for Preschoolers

Being a mom of two energetic kids, is a rollercoaster journey on its own, but a great learning experience for both parents & kids every day. Aren’t we mothers looking for ways to keep them occupied with fun, learning and surprising activities? Well I am sure this is the story of every mom out there. We keep buying new toys for them and they play for few times and finally toys are dumped on some sides of the house. I am sure you cannot agree more on this 😄.

Won’t it be amazing if we have some games or activities to play with them which need no preparations or special gadgets to play? Yes! I did said no resources, just everyday stuff. No screen time, no expensive toys, Are you ready to experience immense joy, unpredictable surprises, challenging games and loads of family bonding time. I will say the positive of this new normal is that we have got plenty of quality time to spend with our lovely kids. Let’s use this time to make memories!! Are you with me on this joy ride? Here are 10 most amazing one-minute games/ fun activities for kids and family:

1) Snap & Stack – Place 10 small paper cups with mouth facing down, now place 1 paper (quarter size of A4 sheet) on each cup, place 1 large cup on top with mouth facing down. Snap the paper fast to stack the bigger cup on smaller cup. Trust me its not as easy as it looks. Brings great concentration and hand-eye coordination.

2) Ski the ball – Use a medium size towel/ scarf. Have atleast 11-12 balls at the start point if playing with 2 people at a time. It’s a race to take your ball to destination point and return to collect more. One who gets more is the winner. Now the twist is you need to sit on the towel and ski to the final point. You can’t stop laughing I bet 😄

3) Balance & Stack - Get 5 small paper cups, 12 ear buds for each participant. Now start stacking each cup with mouth facing up. Trip is to balance each cup on 3 earbuds. One who can make tallest in 1 minute wins the game. Ready to keep your eyes on the tower. Be careful !!

4) Duck walk race/ Ball race – Place the medium size ball between your legs and start walking. You need to bring as many balls as you can from start to finish line. Its so funny to do and to see as you are going to look like a Duck walking around.

5) Stack & Collect – For this game start with 4 cups and start building a 2d pyramid, once done collect the cups and put them back. You need to do it very fast to win the game.

6) Treasure Hunt – Take 2 bowls, one with rice and coins. Other as empty. Ask you kid to find as many coins as he can in 1 minute. Its super easy and fun game for kids 3 to 5 years old.

7) Balance the paper cups – Start with a paper cup facing up, next stack the cup facing down and so on. Keep balancing this hour glass shape and make it tall.

8) Color Sorting – Take 4 bowls, place diff color bangles in one the bowl and ask your preschooler to sort them out in 1 min. Its super fun game for kids.

9) Pick & Drop – Heard of lemon race, of course we all know. Here is a twist. Place lemons in a flat container and try to pick the lemons with a spoon in mouth. You need to pick as many lemons as u can one by one and drop in a bowl placed far away. Hands at the back please! Isn’t it super fun!

10) Drive me through – This is a simple track game. My kid loves playing this. Create a track, simple or complex as per kids age. Place a cotton ball, give them a straw and ask them to start blowing and more the cotton balls in the track to finish line. Whoever do it fast fot most near in 1 minute, wins the game.
