Let’s be honest, the old wired pods were shit anyway, these new airpods are probably shit but they’re still going to be given designer status because yeah, they’re the centre of attention on the internet right now. The 3.5mm audio jack WILL EVENTUALLY DIE in the same way that many venerable and seemingly immortal connectors are fading away. Let’s not even pretend audiopiles used it, they’re far too busy getting their external DAC and tube headphone amp working. When Apple see a truth they go for it; They won’t wait for everyone else to realise. Even if it really pisses people off.
