What has been done and all the positive changes

Two years ago, my pre-New-Year-Eve post looked really sad. I was depressed, and the text turned out to match. There were also objective reasons.

This year, too, there are objective reasons to lie down and cry: I’m broke AF and there’re complete uncertainty and horror ahead. I did lied down and cried two or three times tho. But.

But I’m in some inadequate state of euphoria the past few days. Or weeks. I can’t say with certainty. Anomaly of the biological machine.

I blame antidepressants and love. In a complex way, these two things are interrelated. Maybe someday I’ll write a romantic book about it.

I’m taking AD for almost a year now, first escitalopram, then switched to brintellix. This is not a panacea: you still have to monitor, for instance, the regime of the day and regularly do things, useful for your self-esteem. Otherwise you’ll loose it.

Maybe this brintellix finally kicked in. But I mostly blame smth else for my euphoria.

The thing is, a year or so ago I installed Tinder on my phone. For the 100th time I must say. Then, by an incredible chance, some coincidence has happened. In a month I was already on a plane to Israel, on my way to a complete stranger. I had to lie at the border — otherwise they would not have believed me or took me for a fool, that was called into slavery or to become an organ donor.

Now I fly there every few weeks or months. He flies here too. We call and text each other and put prayers for the health of the Telegram messenger.

I almost forgot to list my results of the year. Here they are:

  1. Remote relationship like a pro. This is both luck and achievement.
2. My first time (and then 4 times more) in Israel, plus in Germany, Belgium and Hungary. The second time in Czech Republic. By the way, that NYE a fortune cookie told me “Travelling is ahead of you.”
3. I’ve passed the face control into Berghain in Berlin. This made me feel like a superhuman. In fact, just like a human, because everything on the inside is beautiful, soulful and very humane: music, people and prices in the bar.
4. Dance champion participation. I missed hip-hop, house, danceholl, contemporary dance, twerk and jazz-funk so much. And I was so pleased to dive into that world for 2 months. It is still unclear how to combine all of it with a dense full-fledged work. I hope I’ll figure smth out.
5. A clinical trial monitor and an ICH-GCP certificate. Thank you, Misha, for finding this program, and then also finding money for my studies. I hope this will be useful for our work.

6. The launch of a clinical trial of diets. A lot has been done: from drawing up the menu to cooking all the dishes and taking pictures, from website design to research design. A lot of people helped, to whom I’m so very grateful, here they are:

and also here:

7. A slight renovation of the site of our foundation:

and the site of our school:

Unfortunately, I don’t have enough time for their regular update.

8. For the first time in my life I have spoken at an international scientific conference. This was also my first ever report in English. I’m not too happy with myself, though very happy with this experience, it’s priceless really. Thank you, Lena, for lobbying my presence there and for making and editing the video. I will post it a bit later.

9. Somehow, I can’t say with certainty, I managed to make my face skin look and feel flawless. I will write a list of tings I’ve done later to work out what has really done the job.

10. I continue to amaze people with my age. And sometimes gender. It’s an achievement and it’s not at the same time. Yes, I take care of myself, but, firstly, I was just lucky with my genes, and secondly, this is a new norm to look the same in your 20–40s.

Everyone in my dance team thought I was 18 because they were 23–25 themselves. How could they come up with a number 33? The same with my GCP study: those who suggested I was 20, were about the same age themselves. Older folks kept their thoughts to themselves. Everyone’s just measuring by themselves. Well, except for the store manager, who took me for a boy.

My Israeli friend keeps my age from his friends (he is 5.5 years younger, his friends are 5 more years younger, so I’m shockingly old for them).

11. I’ve extended my driving licence at last, though don’t really use it. But you never know, the rules for prolongation may change at any moment in Russia. Like they did with American visa recently.

12. My main anti-achivement of the year: I haven’t extended my American visa. The rules became more complicated and the fee is higher, starting 2019.

13. An application for the residency in Skolkovo is filed. This was also teamwork. We are currently waiting for the result. Just take a moment to appreciate our star-team: Aubrey De Grey, world’s number one in biology of aging, is responsible for science, the god of transhumanism, Misha Batin, is in charge of strategy, and the person who will sell you anything with an AI, Dima Matskevich, is responsible for marketing.

14. My first ever oil painting
15. My first ever wakeboarding

16. I went to the gym. Seriously, I have been engaged in my fitness club for many years now, but I have never climbed up to the 4th floor. And I even worked out with a coach. And with a boyfriend. Boyfriend is better. Not only because it is fun and all that. But also because he is 100 times smarter than a trainer, and this, you might be surprised, is essential in a gym.

17. I’ve read our book “Diagnostics of aging” and wrote an 8-page review on it. I’m still waiting for the next edition to be done and for someone finally appreciating my work.

18. The “Molecular Mechanisms of Beauty” book is a work in progress. It’s all about the skin, its aging and everything to be done about it. What does work and what doesn’t. Painstaking, but terribly exciting work.

Anya and I have started a large-scale project for sure. It also has to be an easy read. With any claim to be proven by a scientific research. I will have to become a specialist in the intercellular matrix soon — an extremely important thing not only in skin aging.

19. Our diagnostics of aging, by the way, is expanding and improving, turning into Theranostik — a strong mixture of therapy and diagnostics. Not the book, but the very understanding of what tests should be done and how to treat the results then. A lot is done already, we will present it at the beginning of the next year.

20. I’m sure I forgot something.

I will let you know the name of the artist ASAP

Oh, yeah, the poster. This is the amazing gift for NYE from Andrew. That Andrew, the one from Israel. Who has been unsuccessfully trying to sell me into slavery for a year now. He is also on the poster, sending me memes and circled video messages on Telegram.

Diets, medications, biohacking, transhumanism logo — you can imagine me squeaking from delight when I saw it yesterday! I think I’ll print it out on A3 format and hang it on the wall. Not to admire myself, but to admire the fact that there is a person in the world who understood all this about me and did something fucking amazing. 🖤

The soundtrack of the end of this year is Roisin Murphy “You know me better”.
