Those who told you that “depression was a sin” were not exactly right. Depression is an illness that comes out of sins (improper usage of something, e.g. misusage of your physical and not-so-physical body). An example of illness — teeth decay. This one often comes from a sin as well, namely, eating food we were not designed for. You say “God is to blame who created a depression-prone human body”. I say we are to blame — we use the perfect machine in a wrong way, we disrespect our nature. That is where depression comes from.

I learnt to thank my depression when it visits me, it shows that I am doing something wrong in my life.

It looks like your therapist did not do a good job; she only tried to stick wallpaper to a wall with a big whole in it.

As for suicide, it is a sin! It is a misapplication of the life given; improper use of time granted in this physical world.

Also, you say “Mental health is a human right” — sounds great but it is not a right. Mental health is mental health. :)

PS: I love your articles, that is why I wrote it; I am not indifferent to your depression.
