Learning To Enjoy Home Routine

This warm and cosy picture was borrowed from Amanda`s Instagram

Do you see this picture? Don`t you want to sit in that armchair and read or look out of the window and think? Don`t you want to get into that bed and smell the sheets? Don`t you? Because my answer for all of those questions is a huge YES. Instagram has proved that you can find treasures there and Amanda`s profile mamawatters is a great proof. I am neither a wife, nor a mother, but I found her posts both inspiring and useful. We all live somewhere and have a need to take care of our homes, so why not start doing it with love?

I have been living on my own for years now, and this is why I am used to knowing that if something must be done, I am the one responsible for it. Somtimes it motivates you and sometimes it puts a lot of pressure on you, which does not help. Finding Amanda`s Instagram and then starting to read her blog truly changed my attitude towards those things. Let me give you a couple of examples.

I hate laundry. I hate how much time it takes to locate everything and then to pick everything up and fold and..I am going to be honest with you, I only iron, when it comes to shirts and dresses for special occasions. On all other days, I look a little bit messy because of unironed clothes and I am fine with it. If my mom knew, she would not be able to stay calm, because she irons everything religiously and does laundry almost every day (which is unimaginable for me). What I learnt from Amanda is that you can add some essential oils to water and then spray this mix all over your laundry, which will later smell really good. You have no idea how thrilled I am right now to go and smell my laundry, while picking it all up and folding.

As a child I loved candles, but I have never had the scented ones. Never! Then I grew up and kept an idea that it was a waist of money, so I did not buy them. I kept on seeing Amanda`s pictures of her having scented candles around while reading, writing, cooking and I kept on thinking that I wanted that too. I accidentally went to Muji and fell in love with that store. It seemed like home heaven to me, but I could not buy much. What did I buy? Scented candles, because they have magical scents. Hinoki wood is my favourite one. The one with tangerines and cinnamon is a great one too. As well as Elderflower for spring and summer. That is how candles became a part of my basically daily routine.

Last, but not the least, thanks to Amanda I started seeing the need to clean or do something around home as a desire. Obviously, I have had a desire to live in a clean and tidy home before, but know I imagine so much more vividly how cosy it will be after I clean it up. Oh! I cannot believe it, but I am excited about cleaning everything today. I am excited, can you imagine? Unbelievable.

Finally, I must tell you that not only Amanda has an eye for decor, as well as knows how to take great pictures of simple things, she also writes in a magical way. There is something warm in the way she talks to you. After reading some of her posts today, I felt as if I have been hugged by her. I felt warm and taken care of. I felt really-really good. This is why I am going to finish this post, turn on a podcast episode or soothing music and then I will do the dishes with joy! Can you even imagine such a thing?

P.S. I highly recommend trying all of those things and I can tell you — they will change your life!
