UX-design. The beginning of my journey.

I am Nancy, 23 y.o., and I decided to become a UX-designer. I have a background in computer linguistics and I have 10-years-experience with Adobe Photoshop (yes, indeed). Currently I work for a Russian company which has a number of online shops for energy equipment as a content-manager.

Why UX-design?

I feel like stuck on where I am. I mean, professionally. And I do want to develop new skills and knowledge and improve myself. Also I like creating something from nothing like texts, paintings and music. And I always wanted to create something beautiful, useful and important. Not only for the company I’m working for, but for users as well. I want to become UX-designer.

I’m going to share my story here, how I study, what successes and fails I have, and what challenges I face during my becoming a designer. It’s a Nick Babich’s piece of advice I took from the podcast “UI Breakfast”, episode 69. I hope my experience may help other people to follow their own way of becoming UX-designer, the more successful one.

The first useful link for now is a Podcast “UI Breakfast”, episode 69. Here I found the greatest introduction to UX-design, much useful information, must-reads, links and so on.
