Nassim, what is your take on the phenomenon of endogamy common in many ethnic groups, which under certain circumstances (population bottleneck) can increase the chances of genetic diseases and therefore reduce chances of survival for the group that practices it? Expanding this idea, from a biological point of view genetic diversity increases fitness of a population, but history teaches that ethnic groups have better chances of survival if they remain coherent.
