When the same concept is applied to corporate bodies, it may be called the ‘gap between principles espoused and principles in practice’. Sometimes in good faith, with good intention, certain values may be declared as the guiding principles of the company, hoping that in due course of time it would be realised in practice. But as the time passes by there may only be accumulation of declared values but less coming down to earth. A reality check would throw up the gaps and make bridging the gap another project!
Checking up our individual hypocrisy with an open mind would help to address similar issues at the company. If we go defensive at individual level we would make our companies also go defensive.
