Thank you for sharing your story, Scott. Unfortunately, it’s almost identical to my current situation, except substitute sunny Australia for rainy Ireland! I was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer with liver mets in June, started chemo almost straight away (hooked up to a 46 hour pump right now!), 6 more chemo sessions and surgeries ahead.

Like you, it’s the uncertainty, and the need to create memories, that gets me most. I have an almost 3 year old and an 11 month old. I know I won’t see my grandkids. My goal is to see them go to uni, but that’s a long shot. I hope that I’m around long enough that my baby has memories of me. I hope that my daughter remembers the songs I’m teaching her. I hope that they don’t remember me as a shell of the person I am now.

All we can do is keep positive and keep battling this unwanted parasitic bastard! Keep up the fight, and focus on hugs and getting healthy!
