Who were the Thracians, and where did they disappear?

Homer first mentions the Thracians in the “Iliad”. During the Trojan War, the Thracians fought on the side of the Trojans. The Macedonian tribes also originated from the Thracians, who were subsequently heavily influenced by Greek culture.
