The feeling of detachment…

It is funny how you can surround yourself with people and activities and still feel detached. Many people have expressed their feeling to be flowing through earth without touching the ground, as spectators of their own lives.

They report a lack of power over their own life and what happens to them. Some may qualify this person as depressed, stressed or even lazy but it is a bigger issue. Whichever name you apply, is a growing sense of lost of meaning and purpose in their lives.

Dr. Wayne Dyer says in his book The Shift that the purpose of life is to be Happy, but what does it mean to be happy? What makes you happy? What do you need to make you happy?

This is a subjective concept and no one can actually teach you to be happy but we the appreciation of small blessings and daily achievements can definitely help built this continuous sense of purpose and happiness we search in our lives.

In Susan Jeffers book, Feel the Fear… And Do It Anyway. Jeffers reiterates this idea and walks you through acknowledging your fears and how to overcome them. The point is the understanding that this is not one time thing but is a continuous exercise of self-awareness and improvement.

And why don’t we apply more time into learning about our purpose and ourselves? Why do we only focus on outer purpose, instead of inner purpose?

Those are questions that we all should consider but not easy ones to contemplate. Finding your purpose is not like looking for a pencil when you want to write, it takes time, it takes dedication, it takes devotion and above all, it takes efforts. You must confront your deepest fears and boundaries and break the barriers to a new way of thinking and in many cases, a new way of living.

Acknowledgement and gratitude for what you have is important and the sharing of these blessings is a must. When you start volunteering and take the time to learn about others, you realize how small your problems are, you will find that humans have a higher strength when they come from a place of love and only you can develop this muscle by loving yourself and loving others.

Once you find your purpose and take charge of your thoughts and feelings you no longer float over your life but you start living your life to the fullest.
