“Oh my Taro Rice ((芋头饭))…😋”

Hope everyone had a great weekends! Our weekends were busy but will never forget to prepared a good meal for the family 👪

Whipped up Taro Rice using the Pressure Cooker. Did some modification to the recipe as it’s only the 3 of us therefore reduced some portion of the ingredients. Here goes the recipe:

Preparation time: 15mins

Cooking time: 40mins

Ingredients:

Seasonings:

  • 1.5 Tablespoons Light Soy Sauce
  • Pepper Powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Dark Soy Sauce
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt

Firstly, heat a bowl of oil using the following mode to fry the Taro till golden and put aside. (Amazed that the Pressure Cooker can actually fry food as well!!!)

Keep 1/2 Tablespoon of oil to fry the half-fatty pork till oil is released from the pork. Slowly add in the cubed Mushrooms, Shrimps, chopped Garlic and fry till fragrance. Switch off the Pressure Cooker and add in the rice, seasonings and stir well.

Afterwhich add in the water, close the lid and set to “Rice” mode and press on “Start”. Let it cook for a good 15mins. (⚠️Don’t forget to release the air from the air vent)

And your Taro Rice is completed ✅ (you may garnished with parsley to make it more presentable)

A lot of time is saved using the Pressure Cooker! I can fry, bake, roast and cook with it (most importantly I don’t need to wash so many pots 😅) I’m so glad that I’ve gotten it❣️
