I love being black but hate the weight of it.

Yep. The feeling of having a need for perfection is terrible, and follows a black lad for the rest of his life.

No matter what he does, to be recognized the same as white people just wouldn’t happen.

But at least you know it. You are lucky to be American.

I’m brazilian, have lived in some places around the world and find being a black guy here the worst thing in the world. Everyone pretends there is no prejudice. Everyone loves black people. But at the end of the day, black people do not get the best jobs, do not have the same opportunities and have to fight harder for every litlle thing.

Indeed, I’m afraid I can’t get the 200% required plus 1 everytime, but your text gave me a little hope. Maybe one day, after fighting so hard, we shall be treated like equals…
