Hi Ethar, this is quite a comment :)

I am not arguing at all that banking needs one uniform language. I am merely saying that there was little interest to date to describe “how things work” in a retail bank. You’d find plenty of books on finance or financial mathematics. Let me know if you find one on banking operations. Basically, it is not transparent or learnable from outside how a bank works and this became more apparent with the increase of the number of start-ups trying to enter the field of financial services.

I am not comparing banking with other industries or identifying the problem as unique.

I am advocating for developing and using a more precise language when describing functionalities and for building a domain of knowledge by writing and teaching, for example.
