How networking is changing our lives

The basis of human beings is networking and community building
We did this centuries ago and we still do this today. The difference? From a local, analog world we changed gears and now network and build communities in interconnected hives online.
Whats the common thing about all the big services online?
They connect people. They offer information on demand. They offer tools on demand. They connect services with people whenever they want, to get whatever they want.
But what about the fundamental ability that made us humans become the superior species on the planet? What about mastering effective collaboration online?
A paradigm shift.
It was all about networking, followers products and services. This is where current social platforms thrive. They help content creators accumulate lots of followers over common interests. Why? They need contributors to create content at all times. This attracts users and vice versa.
It is about content creators accumulating a follower base and build up their image, acting asa field of gravity. This is how these platforms and influencers grow. Algorithms heavily influence what kind of content from what kind of user will be distributed to whom. This is the fundamental business model of most social networks today.
The outcome? Highly desired influencer pages with the ability to influence people. Yet there is one major flaw: It is merely used to sell products.
Is this all we can get out of networking? How might the next level of social networks look like?
The future is about collaborative networking.
While being strong in connecting people over common interests, current solutions stop here. It stops at the superficial interaction without tools, frames and purpose to forster deeper levels of human collaboration.
Think about it: How if we enable like-minded people with diverse skill sets to collaborate on a common goal. Might this unlock a higher level of collective intelligence on a global scale?
A practical example:
My team and I work hard on a new tool to enable influencer to collaborate with their follower base.
We analysed the market carefully, understood its strengths and limits and came up with potential solutions.
We went on to develop the first prototypes and showed them to people. They loved the product. They loved the idea and we felt like: this is it! We need to get this of the ground!
Now here we are. Tons of improvements, features and strategies to implement. Alone this will take us months.
But what if we could unlock a community of like minded people, eager to take part in innovation, eager to shape humanities tools of tomorrow? How long would it us with the help of a community of xxx.xxx people to solve these problems ahead?
This is where current solutions stop today. This is what we change tomorrow.
In the 21 century, big problems equal big opportunities.
Let’s emphasize: Having diverse people in for a matter, exchanging best practices, tools, skills, assets, and network, you could virtually achieve anything.
The challenge to enable humans evolving from passive consumers to active members of creating the future might be one of the biggest revolutions ahead.
That being said — how do you envision the future of collaboration? What concerns do you have and why would you love to take part?
