I always welcome article trying to make a good assessment of the value, and shortcomings of computer languages. This one makes some good observations, but unfortunately has more shortcomings than… Phyton itself. Python is more a glue language, very useful to practically call modules, often written in C or C++. So it inherits the virtues of simplicity, for the non computer-expert, and the disadvantages of being mostly a script language. The speed issue is not a real issue, when the code works, it can be compiled in C or C++, cpython etc… using more or less the same code, in order to gain speed. In short Python is a very good application language, and expecting what does not make sense, just …does not make sense.
