Secular Buddhism — What’s Your Take?

I’m not sure I understand the rationale behind this. In particular, with reference to the sangha (7), Batchelor says that “the community of practitioners is formed of autonomous persons who mutually support each other in the cultivation of their paths.” Does this mean that in “non-secular Buddhism” practitioners are not autonomous? From my experience, many sanghas have a loose connection to a Buddhist master or school and what Batchelor proposes already exists. Buddhism is already inclusive and accepts different approaches (both secular and non-secular).
